Emergency Shelters
Richmond House Emergency Shelter
The Richmond House Emergency Shelter, located at 12040 Horseshoe Way offers 45 beds for men and women, with options for couples. Pets are also welcome. The shelter is the result of a partnership between the City of Richmond, The Salvation Army and BC Housing. For more information, visit the Salvation Army website.
Warming Centre
Between December 17, 2021 and March 31, 2022 the City supported Richmond’s first warming centre, located at the South Arm Outdoor Pool building, operated by The Salvation Army. The warming centre provided basic accommodation and ensured people experiencing homelessness could access a warm space to rest, sleep and stay warm during the periods of extreme cold. Participants were provided warm drinks, snacks and meals, and mats and chairs to sleep or rest. Planning for winter shelter services for the 2022/2023 winter season is in progress; check back for more information.
