About Fitness and Active Living

The City and its community partners are currently offering limited physical activity and wellness opportunities taught by provincially registered fitness leaders.
Group Fitness and Aquafit Classes
Low Intensity Group Fitness Classes
Yoga, Core and Strength, Luk Tung, Qigong, Aquafit and other low intensity group classes are continuing to be offered. All classes will adhere to strict guidelines to ensure the safety of participants and staff. Find classes by clicking on the BROWSE AND REGISTER button and choosing Fitness under Adults (19+yrs).

- Visit the Program Registration page, click on the BROWSE AND REGISTER button and choose Fitness under Adults (19+yrs). Register online or call the Registration Call Centre at 604-276-4300, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
High Intensity Group Fitness Classes
In response to the recent Public Health Orders, the City is continuing to suspend all indoor high intensity group fitness classes, including Spin, Zumba, H.I.I.T. and boot camps until further notice.

Live Stream Fitness Videos
Work out at home with the Zoom app and favourite instructors and coordinators! Only limited equipment required. Visit Richmond Connects for the online fitness schedule and registration details.
Personal Training Services
Packages are developed by qualified Personal Trainers to help participants reach individual fitness goals safely and effectively.
Sessions are currently available for registration at City Centre Community Centre. Starting January 2021, sessions will be available at Minoru Centre for Active Living and Thompson and West Richmond community centres.

Screening Form
PAR-Q+ (The Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire for Everyone)
This form is designed to identify people for whom a change in physical activity may pose a risk. When taking part in any fitness activity at a City facility, clients are asked to:
- complete a PAR-Q+; or
- read the large poster version of the form; or
- confirm the online version or the printed questionnaire
PAR-Q Form questionnaire has been completed.
