Scenic Cycling & Trail Recreational Routes
East Richmond - South and North Arm River
This 23.5 km scenic route takes you into the eastern side of Richmond where the pace slows down and a different working river environment is evident. This is both a driving and cycling scenic route. Allow approximately 75 minutes if cycling this predominantly rural route.
Along the South Arm of the Fraser River you will see small scale industry, float homes and boat building companies. Stop for a quiet walk along a tree-lined dyke path between Graybar Road and Fraserwood Way. While on the North Arm section of this route you can enjoy open views of the river and the adjacent municipalities, tugboats, log booms and world famous cranberry fields. Visit this area in mid-October to view the spectacular sight of flooded, crimson cranberry fields during the harvesting period.
Exercise caution in this area since there are few stops along the way and it can be busy during the week with truck and commercial traffic.
