Employment Connections
Programs and Supports for Jobseekers
This is a free event for all jobseekers to discover organizations help with:
- Job search
- Work experience
- Government benefits
- Training and upskilling
Find programs that best fit your needs, including support for those facing barriers to employment.
This event is not a job fair. No employers will be present.

Event Accessibility
We strive to offer accessible and inclusive events for everyone.
- Ten (10) accessible parking spaces are available in the adjacent parkade and in front of Minoru Arena. Additional accessible parking is available throughout the Minoru complex, including the lot directly South of the Richmond Cultural Centre Annex (along Granville Ave).
- Wheelchair accessible washrooms are on the main floor of the Richmond Cultural Centre building and on the 2nd floor of Brighouse Library (elevator access is available).
- Sensory tool kits will be available for use by event participants, including calming items, fidget items and communication tools.
- A quiet space will be available during the event, located in one of the Library’s silent study rooms. It can accommodate up to six (6) individuals at a time. A sensory kit with the above items will also be available in this room.
- QR codes that link to participating organizations’ webpages will be available on each resource table.
- A magnifier will be available for use during this event from the Library resource table.

Employment Connections is a joint initiative involving a diverse group of Richmond-based community organizations, the City of Richmond and Richmond Public Library, all working together to reduce and prevent poverty in Richmond.
Community Services Connectors Program
Weekly Drop-in Sessions
Richmond residents with lower incomes are invited to visit the Living Room at Ironwood Library and chat with a Community Services Connector to get connected with community services and supports. The Community Services Connectors have experience navigating social service and government systems and can help people find information about social service benefits, affordable housing supports, employment resources, and other community programs and assistance.
Date: Every Sunday (until the end of 2024)

Snacks and Facts Workshops
Snacks and Facts workshops are led by a local organization(s) focusing on a topic of interest to Richmond residents with lower incomes. Past topics have included income tax benefits and credits, disability and newcomer supports, and employment resources and services. Snacks and Facts workshops are held at various times throughout the year.

Community Services Pop Ups
Community members are invited to pop by the Brighouse Library to connect on a monthly basis with community-based services in a safe and welcoming space. Hosted by the City of Richmond and the Richmond Public Library in collaboration with community organizations, some of the services and supports available include navigational support for addiction services and affordable housing as well as application support for government assistance.

This document highlights a range of community resources available to individuals and families living in Richmond who are experiencing food insecurity. Services include take-out and sit-down meals, as well as food hampers with delivery and pick-up options available.

Lime Access
Lime Inc. provides an app-based, shared E-scooter and E-bike program in Richmond. The Lime Access affordability program provides discounted rides to those who qualify. Visit their website for information on eligibility and how to apply.
Note: Richmond residents enrolled in the Recreation Fee Subsidy Program (RFSP) can now use their RFSP Approval Letter as proof of eligibility when applying to Lime Access.
