Richmond Art Gallery Volunteers  - Are you interested in the arts?Why Volunteer?

For all of the following positions a time commitment once a week  or monthly is required depending on the position.  The benefits include applying your skills and talents to gain knowledge within the non-profit sector.  You will receive training and support to enhance your experience in a supportive environment.  Build your confidence, art-knowledge and social consciousness. 

Board Members
Commitment: The term is two years with a minimum time commitment of a two-hour board meeting per month. Each director is also expected to sit on at least one committee, which equals approximately four to six hours per month.
Qualifications: Experience in the arts, marketing or fund raising would be preferred. Board development and orientation is provided. Previous experience on a non-profit board is an asset.

Translation
Duties: type and print translated Chinese documents from English to traditional Chinese. Qualifications: fluent in Chinese - spoken and written. 

Classroom Assistant
Duties: set up and clean up programming room before and after art-class; prepare art materials prior to and during workshop; assist children with projects and understanding artistic process Qualifications: enjoy and respect children; exhibit basic art making skills; available for 3 hour shifts between 9am-3pm; enthusiastic and motivated; clear and audible speaker; over 18 years of age; criminal check required.

Host Committee
Duties:  Assist with set-up and coordination of special events and gallery openings; food preparation; bartending; special event photography
Qualifications:  Must be over 18 years of age; enthusiastic and motivated; interest in contemporary art; strong communication skills; able to work as part of a team.
