Spring Art Camps March 2012

Fantasy Gardens
is the theme of this year's Spring Break Camps at the Art Gallery.  A week of drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed-media, sculpture and out-trips all inspired by nature, imagination and contemporary art!   Pack a snack and lunch and dress for a mess and the outdoors.  Camps run from Monday to Friday, from 9:30am-3:30pm at a cost of $180 per child (10% discount for Gallery members).

Summer Art Classes for Children - Drawing

Join us this summer for morning classes that focus on Drawing, in connection to the Sophie Jodoin exhibition in the Art Gallery. Learn how to draw, experiment with all kinds of drawing materials, and have fun creating many different kinds of drawings! Registration begins May 2012.

School Art Program (K-12)

The School Art Program introduces students from Preschool through Grade 12 to the exciting world of Contemporary Art through interactive gallery tours and exhibitions-based hands-on art activities.

School Art Workshops

Bring your students to the Richmond Art Gallery for a fun and inspiring field trip where they will be given a tour of the gallery followed by a hands-on art workshop which relates to the current art exhibition.  The workshops are designed to give your students a foundation in art techniques and a chance to explore a variety of different art mediums.

Professional Development for Teachers

Want some creative ideas for incorporating art and visual literacy skills into your classroom?  Contact us and we can schedule a professional development workshop for your school or preschool staff on a topic or theme of your choice, such as drawing skills, painting techniques, or improving literacy skills through art making. Workshops include hands-on projects and art-based lesson ideas that work across the curriculum. Workshops can be either full or half days, and can be booked at any time throughout the school year.  Minimum 10 participants.  Cost is $35 per person for a full day, or $25 per person for a half day.

Custom Tours and Workshops

If you have a group of ten or more, book a tour and art workshop for a morning or afternoon of artistic inspiration. Projects are aimed at audiences of all ages and experience, to learn a new technique or experiment with a new medium..The Gallery is an imaginative choice for groups seeking an entertaining and creative activity in Richmond! Tours and workshops are 2 hours in total. Fee is $20 per person, which includes gallery tour and all art supplies.
