Community Art Displays
The Cultural Centre provides opportunities for Artists to share their work with the community in the Upper Rotunda and the Minoru Hallway. Though submissions can be received throughout the year, a general call goes out each summer. Currently, the spaces are booked until December 2012, however; in the event of a cancellation, new submissions may be considered for this period.Current Community Art Displays

Call for Entry - 2012/2013 Exhibitions

To promote the development of the visual arts in our region, submissions of art work are being accepted for exhibitions of works by local artists. Applicants from Richmond are given preference, but artists' applications from other British Columbia localities may be considered.
The Richmond Cultural Centre
Upper Rotunda and Minoru Hallway, January 1 - December 31, 2013
Monthly exhibitions are selected. The artwork will be displayed in the Upper Rotunda walls and some selections will also be invited to exhibit on the two Minrour Hallway walls (lower level of Cultural Centre). The Uppoer Rotunda wall is approximately 80 feet wide and 5 feet high and 24 feet wide and 5 fee high. The artwork may include: paintings, drawings, photographs, quilts or other textile pieces and items that can be displayed on paper, canvas or in frames. Free-standing pieces cannot be accomodated. The exhibition is open to the public during Centre hours.
Gateway Theatre
Second Floor Lobby, September 1, 2012 - April 30, 2013
The exhibits span the duration of each Gateway production. The artwork will be displayed on the theatre wall of the second floor lobby. The theatre wall is approximately 59 feet wide and 9 and 1/2 feet high. (The last 6 and 1/2 feet are not lit by track lighting). The artwork may include: paintings, drawings, photographs, quilts or other textile pieces and items that can be displayed on paper, canvas or in frames. Free-standing pieces cannot be accommodated. The exhibtition is open to the public during Gateway hours.
Deadline: Friday, July 5, 2012 at 4:00pm
Submission Requirements
Please submit the following items. Incomplete packages will not be considered.
One hard copy cover page including the following information:
- Artists name
- Address (include postal code)
- Day time phone number(s)
- Email address
- An electronic version of the hard copy cover page (above)
- Proposal/description of exhibition (one page)
- Curriculum Vitae and/or artist biography (one page)
- 5-10 high resolution images of recent work. Images must be representative of proposed exhibition.
