Community Services Department
Overview
The Community Services Department will address the opportunities and challenges facing the City over the next several years. Driven by Council’s Term Goals, this Department will aim to proactively address priorities to successfully prepare for our future. To accomplish this, four purpose-focussed dedicated resource units have been developed:
  • Community Social Services Group
  • Enterprise Services Unit
  • Sustainability Unit
  • Arts, Culture and Heritage
These four new units will work under the direction of the General Manger Community Services and will work in conjunction with traditional City departments to deliver more intensive and strategic support work in the priority areas of Council’s Term Goals. This will also address emerging community and business sector issues and opportunities. There is a significant emphasis on delivering collaborative community services in conjunction with external stakeholder groups. New processes, consultative approaches, customer service orientation while navigating within the Corporation are the key to the success of the Department.
